Park history
Since its founding in 1982, Universal Studios Florida is designed as an amusement park and work studio. It was also the first time Universal Studios built an amusement park "from the ground up." However, the proposed project was postponed until 1986, when a meeting between Steven Spielberg, a co-founder for the park, and Peter N. Alexander was asked to create a Back to the Future simulator. up beside the planned rides of King Kong . Spielberg also noticed how competitive the park was if it could compete with Walt Disney World and nearby Seaworld.
The main component of the original park in Hollywood is a studio tour, featuring several special effects and tour events built on the tour, such as a large white shark attack from the Jaws movie. For its Florida park, Universal Studios takes the concepts of the Hollywood touring scene and develops it into a larger and stand-alone attraction. For example, in Hollywood, the studio travel tram goes close to the shoreline and is "attacked" by Jaws before they travel to the next tour section. In Florida, guests enter the "Jaws" attraction and will board a boat tour to the fictional Amity Harbor, where they meet the sharks, then exit back to the park at the end of the attraction. Universal Studios Florida originally had a Studio Tour attraction that visited the production facility, but the tour had been discontinued.
Branding
The previous slogans for Universal Studios Florida are: See the Stars. Ride the Movies. (1990-1998); No one believes like us! (1990-1998); Ride the Movies (1998-2008); Jump to Action (2008-2012). The Movies Experience (2012-2015) The current slogan is Vacation Like You Mean It (2013-present, along with Islands of Adventure as Universal Orlando Resort).
Timeline
Previous attractions
Like all amusement parks, attractions are sometimes closed due to age and replaced with more contemporary attractions. Universal has seen this happen several times. Some important closures include Kongfrontation, Back to the Future: Ride, The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, Jaws, and Nickelodeon Studios. The closure of the Kongfrontation, Back to the Future, and Jaws has been honored by the park in honor of veteran visitors who honor the previous rides.
The vast area that used to be a Jaws relic was reconstructed to make way for the new Diagon Alley, part of the The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction. As a tribute to Jaws appeal that is available to so many visitors from those years, a reference to the Jaws is sown throughout the new Diagon Alley. One of them is a set of shark jawbones that appear behind a herb and an Apothecary potion. Mulpepper.
Nickelodeon Studios became a Blue Man Group tourist attraction in 2007.
