The patrol ship class Davis is a class of six-boat patrol boat, operated by the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division for the Rio Grande patrol. Each vessel has an armaments of five FN M240 machine guns of 7.62 mm (0.300 inches), and is supported by three 300 hp outboard engines (220 kW).
Officially classified as "shallow water interceptors" and operated by the Highway Patrol Unit, class boats were named after officers from the Texas Highway Patrol who were killed in their duties.
