Plot
Danny Walker (Joe Pichler), and his father James (Tom Amandes), who had divorced from his wife, had just moved to the city from Chicago so that his father could fulfill his dream of reopening a family chocolate factory. Danny and James lived with James's father, known to everyone as "Uncle Fred" (Christopher Lloyd). Uncle Fred was crazy and somewhat childish, but Danny loved him very much. Danny does not like his new life at Walker Falls, and no one seems to like him, especially Mike Kankel's soccer coach (Joe Clements) and his son Ryan (Craig Marriott), the biggest bully in school. The only people who seem good to Danny are Taylor Morgan (Imelda Corcoran), school nurse and childhood friend James.
Danny was surprised at how little decoration was spent with Halloween in just a week. The people of Walker Falls do not seem to be trying at all to celebrate the holidays. Sheriff Ed Frady (Alan Flower) even lowered Danny's decorations. When walking home from school, Ryan and his best friend Leo (Daniel Karr) pushes him to the grave, locks the gate, and tells him that Walker Falls is not celebrating Halloween because of the curse legend.
Years ago, Curtis Danko (Brendan McCarthy) was an artistic boy, excommunicated by "normal" people. When the competition is held for all eighth grade students to design their personal hero statue, Curtis maintains his project during the daytime, then comes to school at night to work with the light fireflies being caught. On Halloween night, she starts to do the sculpture, and Mike Kankel and his friends are walking when they see Curtis from the window. When Kankel returns the next day, he sees the kiln already on all night. He opens the door and finds Curtis's scorched skeletons and messages in ash, saying that if the city ever celebrated another Halloween, he would come back and destroy it. Kankel blind for three days after seeing Curtis's finished statue. He says it is like dealing with the devil himself. Everyone in the city believes in the legend and, since then, Halloween has never been celebrated.
Danny thought it was a silly story, and ran home. James is rare, so Uncle Fred serves as the father who stands for Danny. That night, James plans to announce his "Halloween Spooktacular" idea to raise funds to reopen Walker Chocolates at city meetings. Uncle Fred and Danny tried to tell him that the townspeople would be too scared to support the spooktacular because of the curse, but James was not listening.
At the meeting, Mayor Churney (Roy Billing) announced his campaign for re-election. Running against it is Kankel. After the announcement, it was James's turn. He was shocked to find the Walker Falls people shuddering just mentioning Halloween. To get the conversation back on track, his secretary shared a chocolate sample, but his audience was not very enthusiastic. The meeting ended after all but some left the town hall. Danny's father was very disappointed when he found out about the legend, which had completely destroyed his plan. He decided to cancel spooktacular and get funding elsewhere.
Uncle Fred then reveals why nobody likes Danny. Uncle Fred was responsible for building the kiln that killed Curtis. That night, Danny dreamed he was in the basement of Curtis and saw the cloth tear the statue. That morning, there was a commotion outside the house. A large pile of pumpkins has been found in the city center. Finally it looks like Walker Falls might be celebrating another Halloween. But when Uncle Fred held up the pumpkin as he said "Happy Halloween", the whole pile rolled over it, killing him. Everyone in town was at Uncle Fred's cemetery and Danny was very sad. As a memento, he let his grandfather's favorite car shoot into the track and rest with his coffin.
However, due to Uncle Fred's love of Halloween, the magic in the grave allows him to return as a zombie. Unfortunately, the same magic woke others from their sleep, including Curtis. The zombies begin to capture all the inhabitants of the city and collect them into the creepy Victorian-style house and shout out the phrase "Statue." Meanwhile, Danny and his girlfriend, Dayna Stenson (Brittany Byrnes) try to explain to James and Sister Taylor the situation. Uncle Fred reveals his zombies to his son and Nurse Taylor, both of whom are unconscious in the process. Zombies barged into the house and Uncle Fred explained that Curtis might be behind a zombie revival and told them to run away as he held off other zombies. Unfortunately, he, his son, and Nurse Taylor were all arrested, one of the zombies stating that Uncle Fred was a major part of the plan.
When everyone was together, Curtis revealed himself to people. When he will reveal his statue, he is attacked and completely torn by Kankel. However, since Curtis is a zombie, he sets himself to unite himself, and scares Kankel's intelligence. When Curtis removed the shroud from his statue, everyone closed their eyes with fear. Surprisingly, nothing happened. Everyone opened their eyes and Curtis's statue was revealed to Uncle Fred. Curtis then shows Uncle Fred's picture to them both, Uncle Fred shakes Curtis's hand, because it implies that Curtis looks up at him. Uncle Fred, still feeling guilty over Curtis's death, wonders why he is a hero to Curtis because it is his burning place that killed him. Curtis then turns to Kankel and points to him, calling him her murderer.
Kankel confesses that Curtis's night died, he was working on Uncle Fred's statue and as a joke to frighten him, Kankel, Frady, and his group pushed Curtis into the stove and locked him in it and taunted him. Suddenly, the janitor appeared and the Kankel group left. While cleaning up the class, the janitor accidentally lights the kiln without realizing that Curtis is in it. The next day, Kankel enters the kiln and sees the corpse of Curtis and Uncle Fred's finished statue. To hide his crime, he made the curse by pretending his eyes were burning when he saw the statue make it look like Curtis was doing. Kankel also revealed that Uncle Fred's statue will be chosen to be placed in the town square instead of the statue of Kankel's father. It reveals that Uncle Fred donated plenty of time and money to the city's children, promoting creativity and imagination; thus, he is loved by many children; explains why he is called "Uncle Fred" and why his many acts are seen as childish for some people. Kankel will not support someone to promote "girly" things and want "manly" things. However, Kankel's actions angered her father Pops Kankel (Gordon Boyd), who was among the zombie group and upset with what he had done. He then grabs his son's ears and drags him out to "give him a whoop who he will not forget for years."
In the end, the zombies and townspeople praised Curtis's statue. With that, Curtis had finished what he was doing and said goodbye to the city, disappearing at night, returning to his basement to finally rest. Meanwhile, the other zombies say goodbye. Uncle Fred reconciled with his son, James, saying this will be the last time he saw him on Earth, but he will always watch him on the other side. He then goes with his wife (Jenny Dibley) and the two join the other zombies, sharing one last dance with fireflies, as all the entities slowly disappear dance until the night. Danny and Dayna share a kiss, while James and Taylor hold hands as they watch the dancing zombies fade into the night.
In the end, the German investor who spoke to James previously liked the Halloween concept and decided to support him reopening the family chocolate factory within two weeks. On Halloween day, the children look dressed up in costumes and act as girls from one of the Halloween groups go to Uncle Fred's statue in the town square, where they pass by, and say "Happy Halloween." Then, after the girl left, Uncle Fred's voice was heard for the last time in reply to "Happy Halloween."

Reception
Derrick Carter from For the Love of Celluloid gave the C movie and wrote: "WHEN GOD GET GOOD GO BAD is a decent Halloween movie that will entertain children and offer them a bit more risky material typically associated with Stories RL Stine It would not bother an adult, even if some stupid scene to say the least. It's much better than the latest offering (VAMPIRE DOG, who?), But not as good as something like THE HAUNTING HOUR: DON 'T THINK ABOUT IT also directed at older age groups.) If you're looking for a decent family movie to watch at home and want to see Christopher Lloyd as a charismatic zombie, GOOD GOD should be satisfying on both accounts. "Richard Scheib from Moria.co gave it two and a half stars, stating: "The majority of genre films made for television are completely forgotten - Disney Channel shakes it with a barrow load When Good Ghouls G o Bad, made for the Fox Network, is incredible. There are some very good writings - like a speech about the beauty of death and cell disintegration. Or phrases like "If you do not survive fear as a child, you will not survive fear as an adult," in which you can almost detect the authorship of RL Stine in an instant response aimed at addressing the question of justification for scaring children. "
