The Annoying Orange is an American comedy series made by former Minnesota film student and MTV production assistant Dane Boedigheimer in 2009. It starred in its creator as an anthropomorphic orange that interferes with other fruits, vegetables, and other things by using jokes, which are sometimes rude.
The show is popular, then leads to the subject of TV series, video games, various toys, backpacks, sofas, cushions, blankets, lunch boxes, drink bottles, mattresses, towels and t-shirts. Other accessories, such as the costumes of the series characters, also appear on the market for the company.
From the beginning, the Annoying Orange YouTube channel has collected more than 7.1 million subscribers.

Plot
The show is centered on Orange (voiced by Dane Boedigheimer), who lives in a fruitcake in the kitchen with other objects such as his best friend, Pear, the annoyed Bartlett pears (also voiced by Boedigheimer). Other fruits include Passion, a sensible passion fruit, and Orange's love flower played by iJustine, grapefruit arrogant (voiced by Robert Jennings), a hot and frustrated little apple known as the Apple Midget (though he prefers the name Little Apple), happy-go-lucky and slightly eccentric marshmallows of unclear sex, and lemon old man named Grandpa Lemon, all of which are not the main characters until the next episode.
Most episodes consist of Orange who denounces other characters until they encounter a sudden and terrible ending, usually by removing the contents with a chef's knife (though the tools used to cut it range from blenders to pinwheel toys). Normally, Orange tries to "warn" them before it happens, throwing the weapons in use, like "Knives!".
Orange has several repetitive behaviors. He often starts the episode by repeatedly shouting "Hey, (character name)!" until the character responds. Orange also often refers to the character as something that plays on the name or appearance of the object (such as calling Grapefruit "Apefruit"). If he does not like objects, he will often say "You are an apple!", Even if the object is not ( eg. , tomatoes). Orange uses a variety of tactics, such as telling rude and offensive jokes, belching and making childish voices with his tongue, to get attention.
Regardless of what other fruits and things think, Orange often can not control his tendency to "annoy," and seldom deliberately try to make others angry; he usually means good for most fruits and things. In an episode of the web series, a "life coach," Mango, points out that Orange uses his annoying nature to try to overcome the destruction of the fruits he tried to make friends with.
Regardless of seemingly anti-social behavior, Orange can almost always find comfort in the company of his friends and sometimes create new ones.

Prior to The Annoying Orange , Boedigheimer has done many video food talks for his channel and other sites including JibJab. He said in an interview that the idea for The Annoying Orange is a combination of a talking food video, a play of words and special effects that he had gained and done before. The original video is planned to be titled The Annoying Apple , but when she started animating the video, she found it easier to put the feature on oranges rather than apples and make it clear.
The first Annoying orange video was originally intended to be the only one on YouTube. However, many viewers asked for more videos, and after the fourth, Boedigheimer decided to make the series a full time. Following the success of the series, he created a dedicated channel for The Annoying Orange under the name "Annoying Orange" on January 11, 2010.
Reception
The series is rated as the most viewed web series in February and March 2010 by Mashable, with over 52 million views. On April 26, 2010, this series has over 108 million views on YouTube. As of June 2010, the channel has received 137 million views. On August 13, 2010, has received 1 million subscribers. On January 13, 2012, the series reached 1 billion channel impressions and 2.3 million subscribers. The Annoying Orange YouTube channel currently has over 6 million subscribers.
Despite the popularity of the show with parts of the public, it has received generally unfavorable reviews from critics. Liz Shannon Miller considers the show "annoying for many reasons." In the web series series Pass i Mustard , Ned Hepburn called the show "pure, pure not funny, highly concentrated, in droplets, only pure riffing from Orange Annoying." Hepburn concluded, " the Annoying Orange series is one of my few bad physical reactions. 411mania.com called the show "ridiculous" and "creepy", while other publications referred to it as "third-grade humor."
In 2014, the Annoying Orange YouTube Channel is listed on New Media Rockstars Top 100 Channels, ranked # 32.
Claim
The success of the series has received attention from the H2M advertising agency, which in 2006, created its own "Talking Orange", which is the spokesperson for the advertising campaign for the North Dakota Transportation Department. Both characters are two anthropomorphic oranges that have a relationship with the Fargo-Moorhead region. Though only slightly resembling "Talking Orange", Annoying Orange is viewed by H2M lawyers as a matter of intellectual property. Boedigheimer said he did not watch the "Talking Orange" video before he was told about his disapproval, also believed that his character was not very similar. Boedigheimer and Grove were later sued by H2M in May 2013 for allegedly imitating the character. No sources were released that stated whether the case has been disclosed or is still occurring.
