Hotels for Dogs (1971) is a children's novel by Lois Duncan. It was adapted into a movie of the same name by Nickelodeon Movies for DreamWorks Pictures, released on January 16, 2009. When the book was released in 1971, Andi's name is Liz, and Friday's name is Sadie. This book was re-released on December 1, 2008, to promote the movie with the changed name.
Two sequels released: News for Dogs in 2009 and Movies for Dogs in 2010.

Plot
Andrea Walker, known as Andi, is a girl who does not want to move to her big allergic aunt, Alice, because doing so means having to say goodbye to her beloved dog, Bebe, who will stay with another family until Andi Family finds a new home for themselves because of him. Apart from this, he was forced to leave. However, shortly after his move, he found a stranded dog and wanted to look after him. Andi's mother responded to this idea, so, with Bruce's brother, he kept the dog (which he named Friday) and his children in an abandoned house across the street.
After a while, Andi and Bruce allow three more partners, Tim, Debbie, and Tiffany, and eight other dogs: Red Rover (Irish tuner running away from its rude owner and enemy Andi and Bruce, Jerry Gordon, who is Alice's Neighbor Aunt and pretending to be good), MacTavish (a dog left behind by the owner and eating leftovers and occasionally food from children), Preston (a beagle praying), and five "Bulldales" (puppies owned by Tiffany, and his father threatened to drown them if they were not sold.) In the end, their expenses flooded them, and they were found by their father, mother, and aunt. During the last scene, Jerry's crimes were revealed to his stupid father, prompting him to sell Red Rover.
Also, all the dogs that stayed at the hotel left it. Red Rover, Friday, and Bebe came home with Walkers when they moved from Aunt Alice's house, MacTavish was adopted by Tim, Bulldales found the house, Preston returned to his home, and Andi's writing was finally published.
