Plot
The film begins on the day before Halloween with Skylar, a fearless 15-year-old with a powerful singing voice, preparing for the final Halloween party with her best friends, Henry and Sadie. The plan is for Skylar to sing at the party, with rock band member Ryan Dean. Skylar was destroyed when the next afternoon, her parents told her to stay home and even activate the alarm system to keep her inside. He tried to sneak out of the house by cutting off electricity so the alarm system did not work. It unfortunately unleashes a monster named Deimata (contained in the monster's detention unit of his parents) who is determined to feed fear to Skylar and his family forever. When Skylar's world reversed, he learned that his parents had kept a big secret - that he was from a long line of hunters of monsters. He is the fifth generation. Now, it is up to Skylar and his friends to channel their inner strength and conquer more than this monster. Everyone has their own personal monster, which eats their fears.
Now that Deimata is loose, Skylar experiences all the fears he has never had before and tries to deny what is happening. She, Sadie and Henry left, armed with Skylar's parents' monster hunting tool, to a party at McQuarry Mansion. But Henry became frozen with fear, after being feared by his monster. Cobb, his parents' assistant, came and took him home to fix it. Meanwhile, Deimata lures Skylar's parents into a trap by pretending that Skylar is in trouble. After this, Myra, Skylar's rival, who was at home with a broken neck, was eating ice cream. Soon, the red smoke came out and turned into Deimata. She then controls Myra and goes to a party where she openly insults Skylar for being nervous to sing at Ryan's party and Sadie Skylar's comfort after she's run out, embarrassed. A Myra sings at Skylar's place and moves on to Theodosia and Bob (Sadie and Henry's monster). Myra falls below after Deimata leaves Myra's body when Skylar and Sadie find her. Myra tells them about Deimata and how she can have people - as she did with her. Skylar thanked her, and she and Sadie hurriedly rescued the people upstairs.
During a confrontation with his personal monster, the fixed and armed Henry learns that releasing his fear will cause the monster to crumble into nothing. He went home to tell Skylar about this. So he took the microphone and told Ryan to grab his guitar and meet him outside. But Deimata has Ryan to better prevent Skylar from confronting her fears, but she manages to break free by facing her biggest fear: ask Skylar out. Skylar faces his fears and sings in front of everyone, while Ryan and his band perform as well. While Skylar sings, all the monsters disappear and Sadie also gathers the courage to defend Theodosia by spelling out things she can not when she was a little girl. When all the monsters are all defeated, Deimata comes and reveals that he can not be destroyed that way. He then reminds Skylar that he still has Skylar's parents in captivity, and Skylar rushes off to find them, with Sadie and Henry following behind with everyone especially Ryan and Myra seeing them from a distance.
Skylar and his friends try to fight Deimata, but it seems like he can not be stopped. Though Skylar had overcome her fears, she soon realized Deimata was still eating from her parents' fears - about Skylar's safety. After Skylar gets his parents to believe him, Deimata weakens and his three friends defeat him and catch him. At the end of the film, Henry and Sadie are shown not to be afraid of doing what they are most afraid of doing. Later that day, Skylar and Ryan sang at Ryan's party in his basement. Myra befriends Skylar. However, in the post-credit scene, Deimata blew the glass in the hunting unit, breaking it and we heard it break when Deimata's laughter was heard for the last time, hinting at a sequel.
