One Bloor , formerly One Bloor East and Number One Bloor , is a mixed skyscraper at the junction of Bloor Street and Yonge Street in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The project was originally launched by developer Bazis International Inc. in 2007, before being canceled and redeveloped under the Great Gulf Homes developers.

Histori
There have been several attempts to build residential buildings in No. 1 Bloor Street East. In 2005, a 60-story tower was proposed by Young and Wright. This site is sold to Bazis International and then to Great Gulf Homes. This site used to be a two-story retail building with Harvey's and City Optical on the ground floor, which was destroyed once the One Bloor project went ahead.
Bazis proposal
In 2007, an 80-floor proposal was announced with much fanfare by Bazis International. The two-storey buildings at the site were dismantled in December 2008.
It becomes about 275 meters (902Ã, ft) tall and designed by Rosario Varacalli. The proposal calls for semi-transparent metal and glass towers with environmentally friendly and efficient technologies. The building is planned to include 189 hotel rooms and 612 condominium units.
In July 2009, the final scope and fate of the project was finally questioned. News reports state that the height will be reduced to 67 floors to reduce construction costs. The Toronto Star also reported that a group of lenders were trying to get the $ 46 million loan they paid, or that the court allowed them to buy vacant land. The lenders reportedly made a failed bid of $ 50.5 million to Bazis for the land. Bazis bought the site for $ 63 million in 2007, and cited the global lending crisis as the reason for the reduction in the height and the loan default.
Sales to Great Gulf
On July 22, 2009, Star reported that Bazis had sold the property to the privately held Big Bay Houses, who had expressed interest in building skyscrapers on the site. Bazis's proposal died as a result of the sale. Great Gulf Homes re-launched plans to build condominium towers there with new designs, reduced altitudes (initially 91 to 80, but then 80 floors to 65), and new names. Backed by strong sales, One Bloor grew from 65 floors reduced to 70 floors and again to 75 floors. The skyscraper's final height is 257 meters (843 feet), making it the second tallest residential tower in Toronto and Canada, after Aura.
The building was designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects, supervised by David Pontarini. Number One Bloor features over 27,000 square feet (2,500 m 2 ) from a resort-inspired facility on the sixth and seventh floors designed by Cecconi Simone. On the seventh floor terrace, there are 19,000 square feet (1,800m 2 ) from the outdoor comfort room designed by Janet Rosenberg Associates, Landscape Architecture/Urban Design. The six-story podium covers 100,000 square feet (9,300m 2 ) retail space. One of the major tenants, the Seattle-based Nordstrom Shelf network opened a 40,000 square foot store (3,700 m 2 ) in May 2018. This is the first Canadian location in the chain.

Construction
The project has been renamed. The final scheme consists of a 76-storey condominium tower built by the Great Gulf Homes. The two-story building located on the site was dismantled in December 2008. Construction begins in August 2011. The 75-storey tower expires at the end of 2015.
