Monster High is an American fashion doll franchise made by Mattel and launched in July 2010. Its character is inspired by monster movies, sci-fi horror, thriller, and various other creatures. High Monster was created by Garrett Sander, with illustrations by Kellee Riley and illustrator Glen Hanson.
Franchises cover many consumer products such as stationery, purses, key chains, various toys, game sets, video games, TV specials, web series, and movies directly to DVD. Lisi Harrison is the author of Monster High books. His characters are related to, or descendants, famous monsters such as Dracula, Frankenstein monster, Mummy, Medusa, Beings from the Black Laguna, Phantom of the Opera, zombies and more.
The franchise receives a reboot story and the origin named Welcome to the High Monster , uses a new face print, animated movie, slogan ("How Do You Boo?"), And the song "This Is How We Boo" conducted by Jordin Sparks.

Conception and development
The initial character was created by Garrett Sander and his twin brother, Darren. In researching the look, Sander's brothers went shopping with the girls and recorded them buying goth fashion items such as skulls, chains, and black. They say that because their character is a monster, they have more freedom to do things that ordinary kids can not do. Other inspirations include children's interest in Tim Burton and Lady Gaga. Kiyomi Haverly, Mattel's vice president of design, said, "To be honest, it was very surprising to us, we just saw girls becoming a darker goth mode." The dolls were made by Garrett Sander and illustrated by Kellee Riley.
Production
The main Monster High product is a playscale fashion doll, about 10.5 inches (27 cm) tall. More than 700 have been produced. Their bodies are made of ABS plastic and their heads are made of soft PVC. Dolls have many skin colors, including blue, green, orange and pink, in addition to the color of human skin. Each character has a unique head print, except for C. A. Cupid (Princess Eros), Ghoulia (Princess Zombies), and Meowlody/Purrsephone (Werecat twins). All female dolls have roots or hair, but male dolls may be in droves or hard, colored plastic hair. Each doll has its own style and fashion personality and each has its associated monster attributes (ie, fangs, stitches, wolf ears, fins, bandages, snakes, etc.). Monster High also has several TV specials: "New Ghoul @ School", "Fright On!", "Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love", "Escape from Skull Shores", "Friday Night Frights" and "Scaris: City of Frights". In the United States, this special is broadcast on Nickelodeon.
Starting in 2012, the movie was released as live video. This movie has made the Monster High # 2 kids directly into the video franchise. Movies and specials have also appeared in home media as well as streaming services.
Video game
High Monster has some video games based on franchise. The first video game that was released was Monster High: Ghoul Spirit released on October 25, 2011. It is available for Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii with special features "Ghoulify" for Nintendo DSi. The game revolves around the players into new 'ghosts' at school and must work their way through activities and social situations to eventually be crowned 'Scream Queen'. Another video game for Nintendo DS and Wii titled Monster High: Skultimate Roller Maze was released in November 2012. The third video game for Wii, Wii U, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS titled Monster High: 13 Wishes released in October 2013. In this game the player takes on the role of Frankie Stein who must free his friends from magical lanterns by collecting thirteen pieces of mirror magic. Some apps titled Ghoul Box and Sweet 1600 are available on iTunes for iPad and iPhone devices. The Monster High website has also released a series of web games themed catacombs: "trick or trance", "phantom roller" and "frightening sweet memories". In November 2015, Monster High: New Ghoul in School was released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U.

The Monster High adult novel was written by Lisi Harrison, who previously wrote the book series The Clique and The Alphas. The books take place in a different fictional universe of webisodes and deal with Regular Attribute Dodgers (RADs) and struggle them with love, social life, school and can not be considered a monster for humans. Mattel released the first Harrison novel Monster High on September 26, 2010. The book revolves around Frankie Stein and Melody Carver. The second book in the series, The Ghoul Next Door , was released in late March 2011 and features chapters on Cleo de Nile. The third book featuring Clawdeen Wolf is titled Where There's a Wolf, There's a Road and was released on September 29, 2011. The fourth novel titled Back And Deader Than Ever was released in early May 1, 2012 and featured Draculaura. Another Monster High Book called Drop Dead Diary was released on January 19, 2011; it was written by a pseudonym Abaghoul Harris.
Ghoulfriends book series
Gitty writer Daneshvari has written the Ghoulfriends series focusing on Monster High characters of Venus McFlytrap, Robecca Steam, and Rochelle Goyle. Four books including: Ghoulfriends Forever , Ghoulfriends Just Wanna Have Fun , Who's Ghoulfriend? and Ghoulfriends' Til the End .

Spin-off
In July 2013, a new spin-off line was launched as a companion line to High Monster, called Ever After High . Ever After High is based on children of fairy tales. Monster High's C. A. Cupid was the main character on Ever After High webisodes where he became an exchange student there. In the movie Monster High 2015 "Boo York, Boo York", Astranova characters make contact with Apple White and Raven Queen from Ever After High which shows the future crossover. However, the 2016 reboot resulted in the cancellation of the plan; short storyboard animations released during summer 2016 on the official High Monster YouTube channel under the title The Lost Movie , and the initial design for the EAH character intended for crossover has been released on line.

Reception
In response to the creation of these dolls, rival toy company MGA Entertainment released a wizard-themed puppet line known as Bratzillaz (House of Witchez) which was launched in 2012 and is a spin-off of MGA's Bratz line of toys. Some Bratzillaz lines are very clearly inspired by Monster High Lines, such as 'Switch A Witch' which mostly have the same idea as 'Create a Monster'. Many other horror-themed fashion dolls, such as PlayBut's Mystixx vampire dolls, WowWee Once Upon a Zombie dolls and Zombie Girls Jakks Pacific dolls have been released (all with varying degrees of success) as a result of Monster High's success, in an effort to earn cash. in trend.
