History
In 2008, two teenage siblings, Nicky and Kristopher Bronner, and their father, Boston businessman Michael Bronner, began work to create natural candy products as an alternative to the artificial chocolate products available at local stores at the time. All three tested a large number of candy recipes, and started the company in 2010.
In 2013, Unreal manufactures and sells chocolate snacks made exclusively with non-GMO ingredients, without partially hydrogenated oils, preservatives, artificial colors, gluten, corn, or soybeans, and reduced sugar compared to candy brands. They produce several kinds of chocolate peanut butter cups and candy-lined chocolate gems.
Upon re-launch, in March 2017, UNREAL began producing snacks with unique ingredients and creative touches, including roasted crispy quinoa and almond butter. UNREAL Products are sold online and in natural stores and conventional stores across the United States, including Whole Foods, Sprout's Farmers Markets, Kroger, Shaw, Market Basket, Wegman, Big Y, and Roche Bros. By 2015, Unreal runs a successful sales campaign where signatures by quarterback Tom Brady are hidden inside the Halloween candy bucket.
