Summary
The Elephant Show features the adventures of a trio of Canadian singers, Sharon, Lois & amp; Bram and Elephant (Paula Gallivan in elephant costume). The elephant does not speak but is voiced by the tuba (played by Scott Irvine), who conveys thoughts and moods with tone and inflection. The four are usually accompanied by a group of children and a sidekick, the entertainer of Eric Nagler's family.
Every week Sharon, Lois & amp; Bram, along with Eric Nagler, joined the curious and odd curiosities of their Elephant pachyderm pal and guest artists like Cranston's Toller, Louis Del Grande, Jayne Eastwood, Murray McLauchlan, Chuck Mangione, Andrea Martin, The Nylons and Jan Rube?
Almost every episode contains a concert segment, featuring Sharon, Lois & amp; Bram, Eric, and Mammoth Band. They sing songs and help children with their problems (including arguments, fears, and failure plans). In most episodes, the group travels to a new location (such as a hospital, museum, or zoo). They occasionally stay home and adventure in their yard (such as building a tree fortress or meeting a grumpy neighbor). This event sometimes includes social lessons (such as pro-UNICEF discussions). Sharon, Lois, and Bram appeared in advertisements during the show's initial impressions, encouraging parents to vaccinate their children against polio, mumps and rubella. Each episode ends with the song "Skinnamarink".
This event enjoys a top ranking in Canada and is consistently rated as one of the top three programs in Nickelodeon in the United States. In 1993, a panel of experts at TV Guide rated the # 2 The Elephant Show program for preschoolers in North America.
In the years after the last season, the show remained at Nickelodeon until it was driven from the lineup in 1996. During his trip on American cable channel, it was ranked # 2 on TV Guide ' 10 Great Kids Program, beating Sesame Street (# 5) and Barney & amp; Friends (# 9). By the time the last rerun has been aired, The Elephant Show has aired 65 episodes in five seasons, and has been seen in Australia, Canada, England, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Africa South, and the United States, reaching more than 100 million viewers.
After the series ended, Eric Nagler starred in his own series, Eric's World , produced by The Elephant Show, s producer, Cambium Productions.
