Severe Disbursement Benefits ( SDA ) is a UK state benefit intended for those under the state pension age who can not work due to illness or disability. Replaced by Incapacity Benefit in April 2001, replaced by Work and Support Allowances. However, while it is no longer possible to make claims for SDA, individuals who have received benefits continue to do so. Benefits are managed by Jobcentre Plus (executive agent of the Department of Employment and Pensions).

Feasibility
A person may be eligible for Heavy Defect Benefit if:
- they are rated at least 80 percent disabled and:
- they are unable to work due to illness or disability for at least 28 consecutive weeks
- they are between the ages of 16 and 64
It is also possible for the Prosecutor of Heavy Disability Benefits to receive a 'top-up' payment of Income Funding before the benefits are terminated. SDA is now being withdrawn and the claimants are required to claim ESA instead that requires new applications to benefit.
Complicated benefit conditions and suggestions should be sought from Jobcentre Plus, the Citizens Advice Bureau or the Welfare Rights Organization.
