A roasting pan is a cookware used to roast the meat in an oven, either with or without vegetables or other ingredients. The roast pan can be used with shelves in the saucepan and let the meat sit on fat and the juice dripping.
A shallow baked pot is usually used to bake small pieces of meat, but a large-sized baking pot is also used for cooking large poultry such as turkey or goose, or for larger pieces of meat. A deep baked pot can store vegetables and other ingredients that can be meated rather than shelf, letting the vegetables soak up the fat and juice from the meat while cooking. A deep roasting pot can also be used as a baking sheet or basin, holding a small baking dish that should be surrounded by boiling water.

Baked pots are made in some ingredients that offer their own unique benefits:
- Aluminum foil: cheap and disposable after one use
- Stainless steel: may have a nonstick coating
- Coated enamel: has a non-stick surface
- Cast iron: iron lizard appliances heat up well and can be used for brown meat on stovetop before being put into oven for baking
- Clay cooker: covered clay pot can be a chocolate dish if oven temperature is raised towards the end of cooking

Covering or uncovering a grilling pan will depend on the type of roasted meat, or the recipe that followed. Generally, meat high in fat content, such as duck, need not be closed during roasting. Non-fat lean cuts, however, will benefit from being covered during long roasting times, to keep the juice and soften the meat (for example, in using tajine for grilled meat).
Baking rack
The grill rack can be part of an accessory from a grill pan. Shelves may be horizontal and lie flat on a grill pan, or maybe a standing shelf that stands upright in the pan. The stand shelves are most commonly used for roasting poultry. Variations of standing pan roasting pan is recipe beer cans.
