History

The Children's Night on Broadway (KNOB) is a program of The Broadway League, the national trade association for the Broadway theater industry. Designed to introduce young people to the theater marvels instantly and make Broadway accessible to a whole new generation of theater goers, the Broadway Night at Broadway has welcomed young people to Broadway shows in New York and tours across the US since the program was made on in 1996 by The Broadway League and the Theater Development Fund.

Since its founding in 1996, Kids' Night on Broadway has attracted thousands of children to a program that not only offers discount tickets for Broadway shows, but also allows younger theater audiences to experience some of the wonders behind the theater scene.

In 2000, the Broadway Nights on Broadway evolved from not just one night, but for two nights of live theater experience for children, ages 6 to 18, across the country. KNOB also serves as an announcer for "Rising Stars Live Broadway Talent Contest," a talent contest where participants win tickets to Broadway shows, signed posters, CDs and more and are judged by professional agents, and " The "Fair," Kids who offered backstage activities included dancing lessons, face paintings, makeup designs, and Broadway costumes before the KNOB theater show.
