Howl-O-Scream contains intense adult content such as violence, thick blood and blood and sexual innuendo. Thus, it is not meant for children.
Although the event is intended for adults only, individuals under the age of 18 will be admitted to the event, however, this event is not recommended for children under 13.

Histori
This event takes place during certain nights in October, usually on weekends. The show focuses on haunted homes, "frighten zones," and shows that relate to a particular theme. The haunted houses are covered areas with storylines and certain themed decorations. Usually, they lead guests through a rather overcrowded maze of features designed to surprise, confuse or disturb those who enter by using a combination of strobe lights, fog machines and other accessories of this kind. The scare zone is similar to a haunted house, unless they are placed in an outdoor area along the main path. The scare zone also features a special theme and contains objects commonly used in haunted houses: people dressed up as theme-related creatures, fog machines, strobe lights, and other decorations such as broken boxes, broken street lights and fixtures similarly related to the theme. The performances are similar in structure to the standard stage performances shown at Busch Gardens, yet they have a Halloween setting and feature dark humor, strange sights and sexual innuendo.
Howl-O-Scream is not the first Halloween event at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. One year before the debut of Howl-O-Scream in 2000, the park features a Halloween PG-13 attraction called Spooky Safari. It has attractions such as a haunted jungle experience called "Haunted Jungle Trail", a pyrotechnic/magic show, a patch of pumpkin, dried grass, and face painting for the kids.

Evolution year after year
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
The year 2000 saw the debut of Howl-O-Scream. The event replaces a smaller event called "Spooky Safari," which extends to mainly youth-oriented events into events that offer Halloween-themed attractions, shows, and events for teenagers and adults as well. The debut show opens with four haunted experiences: two haunted houses, one haunted trail, and one ghost that will be characterized as a hay ride if not already in the playground. Events include celebrity appearances by Butch Patrick of The Munsters and mentalist, The Amazing Kreskin. There is one zone scare park. The 1961 Cadillac hearse of the TV show Creature Feature Paul Bearer is also on display. In an effort to maintain the children's demographics, the "Free Zone of Monster" is included, featuring face painting, art and crafts, and a hay ride.
In 2001, Howl-O-Scream added haunted labyrinths, scare zones, and new shows, and repositioned the event toward older adolescents and younger adult demographics. The "Land of the Dragons" children's area of ââthe park continues to offer tariffs for younger children.
There are five haunted houses, with no isolation from 2000. There are three frightening zones, with one haunted trail from the year 2000. Two performances were produced by the park, replacing the previous year's celebrity performances. This year's scare zone is not listed on the park map, although there are three.
In 2002, Howl-O-Scream featured six haunted houses, with only one relic from the previous year. The same concepts and target demographics are also maintained. There are four terrifying zones: two arrests and two new ones. The haunted trail was retired. Both performances were relics from 2001.
The park further refined their formula for 2003, focusing on the development of their backstory line. There are four haunted houses and one haunted trail, with a total of five experiences: four from the previous year, one new house and one from 2002 retired. The scare zone is five, three from 2002 and two new. There are three shows: one relic, and one new show, both produced by the park. The third is brought by the vendor.
Howl-O-Scream back in 2004. However, some storms from the 2004 Atlantic hurricane season delayed the start of the event. Hurricane Jeanne was the most destructive, causing the possibility of an EF1 tornado in the original building for the Corporate Nightmare ghost house, destroying it. The storm itself also causes moderate damage to props in the Park scare and scary zones of the Scary Express. The company's Nightmare was moved to Tut's Tomb on the second night of the event, and the property in the two zones of the scare was rebuilt. There are five haunted houses, three new homes, plus one haunted trail. There are four terrifying zones: three new. There are two performances, one of which is new.
2005 featuring six haunted houses, five frightening zones and two shows. Only one haunted house appeared the year before. All the scare zone themes are new, and one of the two shows is new. The "Hunted" ghost house in Nairobi Pavilion is said to be the first time a "victim" fear is used. It involves a member of a player who is dressed in ordinary clothes and seems to be struck roughly from the crowd.
The little fire started in front of the "The Hunted" ghost house one night about halfway. The house was evacuated and closed when examined and aired; no casualties were reported and the house reopened within hours. The fire was traced to a guest cigarette, lying carelessly on the couch that burned in the opening hall of the house. Road safety is improved to avoid further incidents.
Howl-O-Scream 2006 features six haunted houses, one of which is new. There are five frightening zones, two of which are new. Three events complete the offer, two of which are new.
2007 saw six more haunted houses, with three of them new. Five frightening zones (two new) and three gigs, two new. There is also the addition of five mini-scare zones, a much smaller roaming free zone that is not listed on park maps or official websites. They mainly involve players who mingle with the guests. They will then inspire the "Roaming Hordes" National Park scare zone in 2008, 2009, and 2011. The event icon for 2007, "The Death Jockey", has been exploited in comic books on the HOS website.
2008 consists of six haunted houses, three new homes; four frightening zones, one of them new; and three shows, with two new ones. The new scare zone is actually the descendant of "Roaming Hordes" from the mini-zone of the previous year.
This year also represents the first use of Busch from their HOS website to build interest for the year-round event using the "teaser" strategy, along with occasional updates.
The year 2009 is the tenth anniversary of Howl-O-Scream, featuring seven ghosts, four of which are relics and three new places. Five frightening zones are installed, four of which have a new theme.
