On commercial transport, mostly with airlines, baggage allowance is the amount of checked baggage or bag/luggage in the baggage to be permitted by per passenger. There may be a limit to the amount allowed for free, and a hard limit on the amount allowed.
The limit varies per airline and depends on the class, elite status, ticket type, flight origin and destination. If the flight is booked along with other flights, it may also have different limits (eg if another flight on the same ticket is a long haul). The right luggage conditions are mentioned in the online ticketing information.

Luggage type
On an airplane, there are two types of luggage, which are treated differently: checked baggage and handbag/congenital. For both types, transport companies have rules about weight and size.
For checked baggage, stored in an aircraft, usually the weight is a limiting factor. All checked goods are generally weighed by the airline during check-in, and if they exceed the limit, passengers are notified by the airlines. To avoid charges, passengers often have to replace some items found in suitcases to other luggage, or carry them.
Baggage luggage is rated by size. Bags are measured by dimensions or in total linear measurement (high width). However, there may also be other restrictions on the type of goods that can be carried on the plane.

IATA
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has issued recommendations for checked baggage restrictions and luggage. Some companies adhere to these recommendations, some comply with some and some disobey them altogether.
Recommendations for checked baggage are: Weight maximum weight 23 kg, weight limit 32 kg, maximum recommended length 158 cm wide height, limit 203 cm. The 23 kg limit comes due to similar limitations in health and safety regulations.
Due to wide variations within the boundaries of handbags/luggage, by 2015 IATA released a size recommendation for luggage intended as a hand luggage/luggage. It states that the suitcase must have a maximum size of 55 cm, width of 35 cm and a depth of 20 cm. If they meet these requirements, the bag can carry the logo "IATA OK cabin". This limit is tighter than the current airline limit, so bags with this logo are practically permitted everywhere.
Standard concepts
Two concepts for baggage weight limits are being used.
Draft Piece
Under the Piece Concept, passengers are permitted to inspect a number of suitcases weighing up to 23 kilograms pounds for Economy Class, and up to 32 pounds for Business or First Class. The weight allowed per suitcase and the number of suitcases varies per airline and depends on the class, elite status, ticket type, flight origin and destination.
Concept Weight
Based on the Weight Concept, every passenger is allowed to check the total weight regardless of the number of luggage. Often passengers traveling together may also incorporate permitted weights. Total weight varies per airline and depends on class, elite status, ticket type, origin and destination.
Cost
Baggage charges in the United States have become the norm for many airlines and this trend is predicted to continue with many trans-Atlantic flights starting to accumulate costs for the lowest cost tickets. IdeaWorks, the travel consulting company, estimates that costs will become the norm by the end of 2019 and globally thereafter.
The 23 largest airlines in the United States reported getting $ 4.6 billion in baggage fees by 2017.
